Making it Mondays - Slow week!
I posted late last week so I don't have a lot to post this week about craft items. I'm in the process of making some booties for the baby but that is pretty much all. I've been starting work on the baby book, filling out the preparing for baby section, but it is not really a craft item exactly. Most of my projects I'd like to be doing I need one or two items and I haven't been able to go and pick them up yet. Hopefully in the next few weeks I'll be able to pull stuff together and get the final things needed. I haven't even really cooked this week all that much just because I've been super lazy! (And I need more flour). I might be making some cookies this week so I'll keep everyone updated on that!

Pinnable Me: Clothing!
Linking up with Stefanie once again for her Pinnable Me post.
This week I am going to talk about the clothing I've been pinning. I have a board on pinterest that is called For Me! where I pin stuff that I just want and it doesn't necessarily fit into any of the other section (like the Someday post which is mostly about house stuff, or Sam which is of course for my dear Hubby!). The main thing I pin there: Clothing.
I love this collection. I would wear it all the time. Obviously not right now (because I CANT!), but once I get trimmed back down. I love green and black together. I think it is SO classy looking.
I think this shirt is so adorable. I would totally wear it everywhere. I am definitely a dog lover and can't wait until we live somewhere that we can have one!

I love these as well. I'd wear them all year long...not just at Halloween. I have a sock obsession though, so it's not really surprising. Ask me how many pairs of Xmas socks I have and I honestly couldn't tell you.
Another black and green combo. I love the colors (of course) and the cut of this dress. No clue if it would look good on me, but I would try and make it! Really! Again, so classy.
I think we'll leave this at 4 things because I could go on and on and ON about clothing right now (mainly because I can't fit ANY of it...). Check me out on pinterest by clicking here!
Baby Thursday...on Friday
Yesterday turned nutso! It's not that anything crazy happened...I was just so tired and sore and my arm so totally hurts from going to the doctor. I know, not an excuse, but still I'm using it.
So here's what is new on the baby front. I went in for a check up yesterday. I am 28 weeks and everything is looking good. Doctor says 10-12 weeks until delivery looks right about on target and that we'll start worrying more about position and such when we get to 36 weeks. (OMG it's not that far away anymore...)
I got the results of my glucose test finally...since they never called me with it! My numbers were "perfect, almost too perfect" according to my doctor. She said I deserved a gold star because I'm having a stellar pregnancy and everything seems to be going really well. My blood pressure is good (110/60), my weight gain is right on target (142...19lbs gained), and like I said...the glucose test came back awesome. Baby HB was good too at 138.
The only "concern" right now is the fact that James is laying sideways. She said its nothing to worry about unless he stays this way as we get closer! It definitely explains why my ribs have been hurting though, haha.
Not much progress on the room. I still need to get more paint to finish that up and then I can work on the other decor, but I need to pull some extra money from somewhere in order to do so. Hopefully in the next month-ish I will be able to get that completed. I am almost done with the curtain for the room and just need to do some minor sewing on it (like I talked about in my post yesterday). I also need to get a curtain rod for the room in order to hang it. I came up with some other cool design projects for the room, but again just need to have the cash to pull it all together.
We get our crib on Monday. So excited! Found out the reason it was taking so long was that it was never processed as ordered. Whoops! We're all a little scatter brained these days, haha. I feel like once we get that I will really be able to pull the room together. :)
That's pretty much it on the baby front this week. Hopefully I won't slack next week and wait until the end of the week to do ALL my posts!

So What Wednesday and a little more...
Ok, it's definitely only Week 2 of my planned posts and I'm already slacking. I missed both Monday's post and yesterday's! I'm going to combine both of those into one post right now and get it taken care of. I'll chime in with my Thursday post later on tonight after I have taken another short nap :).
We'll start off with my SWW post since that is one I link up with and I'd hate to bore any ladies who headed over this way with having to read through multiple entries in one blog just to see that part! So...here we go!
So What If:
And just a quick rundown for my newly started Making it Monday...without pictures unfortunately. This week has been a lot about food. I honestly can't remember what all I mentioned last week (I could look but I'm lazy), but I've made some delicious peanut butter cookies, homemade chocolate syrup, pizza spirals, and cheesecake in the last little bit. I've had quite a few peanut butter things just because I have a ton of peanut butter right now. Other crafting stuff includes the curtain I am almost finished with for the baby room (just need some loops to make it semi-roman style) and washrags/pot holders. One was entirely of my own design! I also have a few bracelets that I made as well as a turtle baby outfit that is in the process of getting pulled together. This inspired the hubby to ask if we could have him be a Goomba for Halloween next year...we're currently undecided! I wish I had pictures to post, but I don't at the moment. Maybe I will add some later after I rest for a bit. Morning doctor appointments make me sleepy!

So What If:
- I'm really scared that we only have 10-12 weeks left to get things together here. It seems so much shorter when you think about it in weeks rather than months. 2.5-3 months seems so much longer.
- I have one 3/4 painted wall in the baby room done. I need help to finish the wall and I need my other paint color to do anything beyond what I've accomplished so...I'm sorta stuck at the moment.
- I'm super proud that the doctor just told me I had a model pregnancy. She told me I deserved a gold star (and part of me wishes she really had a gold star to hand out!).
- I'm sleeping a lot now because I can't sleep at night. I always wake up SOO SORE!
- I might end up using SWW in the near future to promote my new "blog" where I am going to be selling craft items. I don't think that is cheating! Plus, it works better than etsy currently because I'm not prepared to pay seller fees without establishing myself first.
- Above page needs a lot more work before I'll even be willing to link to it even slightly!
- I made cheesecake and pizza roll things last night. They were delicious!

Pinnable Me: Recipes
Stefanie, who normally hosts Pinnable Me, is not doing so this week due to some family stuff. Head over to check out her blog anyway though! I am going to go ahead and do Pinnable Me this week because I need to keep myself motivated with this regular blogging thing!
This week I am choosing recipes for my Pinnable Me choice. Check me out on Pinterest to see these awesome recipes in full! CassLangley
Peanut Butter Cookies. Smaller batch than your standard cookie recipe and really simple. I always get bored of baking after about one or two pans worth of cookies so I'm so glad this cooks a smaller amount! Very delicious too, though not as gooey as I like my PB cookies sometimes. Prob could be if I cooked them a little less!
Homemade chocolate syrup. I haven't tried it out in anything yet, but I just finished cooking a batch up. The syrup tasted good on its own, though a bit different from store bought. I think it will be awesome overall. I didn't use organic sugar, but I doubt that will make a difference!
Cheesecake filled strawberries. These might have to wait until next year to try out. I looked at the strawberries at the store today and they were all pretty weak. I'm very specific about my strawberries so I'm not going to buy any that are sub par! Sounds delicious though!
I'm just going to leave it at these three this week so I don't make all of you starving like I already did by looking at my own board on pinterest...You can go look yourself if you want :D

Baby Thursday
I don't have a clever name for my Thursday post, but I will try to come up with something eventually here!
We are now at WEEK 27. Insane. Feels like we just found out yesterday that we were expecting and now we've already passed the 6 mths point. I don't know if I ever introduced our baby with his name, so I supposed I should do so. 93 days until we meet Mr. James Tilden Langley!
I had my glucose test yesterday, which might possibly be the worst thing ever invented. I don't like not eating and I don't like being bored. Combine that with having to drink some nasty sugary flat soda-like drink and it was just bad. Still, gave me an excuse to just come home and eat everything in sight (which then made me want a nap!). I still haven't heard the results because of how weird my insurance set up is, but I am betting I am just fine. I don't eat THAT much sugar and I eat healthy overall I like to think. Sure, I have a slight soda addiction, but I don't drink WAY too much of it or anything. I try to keep a good balance.
I've been working on a lot of baby clothes when it comes to knitting/crocheting, but I can't seem to get a handle on socks. I think I need smaller hooks/needles or just different types of them to do what I want. Everything comes out WAY too big or just awkward. Neither is OK for me since I'm OCD about my crafting. Speaking of crafting, the art for the room is coming along great too. I talked about it on Tuesday's post a bit and I got some other ideas forming too. I hope I can get the room set up by the time he arrives.
We have so many cute outfits for him! The baby shower gave us lots of awesome things for James and we just got this adorable Transformer onesie from a friend today as well. He's going to be one stylish baby.
We're still waiting on our crib to come in the mail. It's the big item that I'm so excited to get! I feel like I can't really form an idea of how to set up the room until its here so really hoping it comes soon! There are some other items we're still waiting on too, but they're not as ESSENTIAL! :)
Overall, the pregnancy is going good. He likes to have dance parties whenever I want to go to bed...the time doesn't seem to matter too much. I'm getting sore and getting to the point that I really wish December was here already. Still, I know we have a lot to get ready still so I'm glad we have some time. The weather is cooling down though which is AWESOME! I don't think I could handle any more 100+ weather around here. I LOVE fall (and spring) so I'm loving the chill in the air.
I've started a countdown, as you might have seen in the opening. 93 days until he's here! I can't believe its below 100. I'm so excited!

SO What?!
Time for our SWW post of the week (on Thursday...whoops!). Head on over to Mrs. Dew to link up with her as well for this post!
So what if:
So what if:
- I'm doing this post on Thursday morning instead of Wednesday. With all the stuff I had to do yesterday, I kinda forgot what day it was.
- I slept for a good deal of yesterday as well. Getting starved for 12 hours messes a person up and apparently makes me want to take naps....lots of naps.
- I ate like 15 meals yesterday. Again...the whole 12 hour fasting thing.
- The mail system here has been aggravating me the past few days! I know it's not their fault, but I am waiting on a few things in the mail and they still aren't here! I really hate waiting on stuff.
- The most exciting thing that could happen today would be if one of those packages arrived. I'm waiting on my crib and I'm so excited to put it together.
- I've been avoiding the hubby like the plague. He's been sick and I'm trying so hard not to get it. Unfortunately I think I may have gotten a little bit of it. If it stays to just sneezing and a small cough I should be ok, but he has been feeling like death lately.
- I started and stopped 5 different crochet/knit projects last night because after about 3 rows into each I decided they were all crap! I think I just wasn't in the mood for crafting like I thought I was.

Making it Mondays - My Craft Days
I've decided to call my Monday posts Making it Mondays.
I'm just going to use today to post about what crafts I am working on this week, whether they are for me, for baby, or for the house in general. I've been pretty busy this week with stuff because I got myself hooked into Pinterest (Follow Me?).
My two main projects lately have been clothing and working on baby room stuff. I'm not going to go into details on a lot of the baby room unless it involves something crafty (that I'll save for Thursday's post!).
My first clothing project that I am in the process of working on ATM is a headband/earmuff thing for myself. I hate hats and I don't like normal earmuffs, but here in KS it gets cold and you need to cover those ears up with something! I didn't know a lot about knitting before this project so it has been a TASK, but I'm a little more than halfway done.
This is a picture of the headband from the back. I have the pattern linked on my Pinterest (link above) so head over there if you'd like to try it out.
I also have another idea from Pinterest that I am working on right now, this one is for the baby room.
I have doilies left over from the wedding last year. No idea why I still hung onto them, but I am glad I did. I started to paint the doilies just the other day and I am waiting to get the rest of the paint etc. that I need for the project. NOT these colors, but ones that match the room design.
I have not started this project yet but I would like to try it out sometime soon.
Seems really simple and cute! I need to get the paper to do so though so will have to wait a bit.
Last: I will post a project that I tried and feel like it failed. I was working on this yesterday and it just came out badly. I think it was an error on my part.
Mine just weren't FLUFFY! It came out very limp and looked very unexciting. I was disappointed. Maybe I needed more cloth...who knows.
If you post about something similar and have a link up board please leave a comment below! I would love to have someone to share these blogs with.

Everyday posting...
So, I think in an effort to make myself blog more I am going to start doing a daily link up with people about things. So far I have my Wednesday (So What Wednesday with Mrs. Dew) and Friday (Pinnable Me with Stefanie) all set up. I still need to decide on the rest of the week for posts. I think I will dedicate one day to baby topics, including what week we're on and what has happened (DR visits etc) in the past week related to that. I think I will set that as Thursday since that is when I've been counting my "weeks" at - I don't know if that is accurate since I am pretty sure my "weeks" switch on Fridays or Saturdays but I've been doing it since I found out. I was thinking I'd make Mondays my craft days. I'll post about my newest crafts and what I'd like to do. This may involve some links from pinterest. I would like to link up with people for these but I'm not sure if anyone has links related to these topics.
This leaves me Sunday, Tuesday, and Saturday to fill up still. I'm going to have to look around and find something. I will edit this post as I figure out what to do those days.
Schedule:
Sunday
Monday - Crafts
Tuesday
Wednesday - SWW
Thursday - Baby
Friday - Pinnable Me
Saturday
I make no promises about sticking to this schedule but this is my CURRENT plan. :) Happy Blogging!

Pinnable Me: Everything!
Through L.A.I.D. I just got hooked up with another weekly post. I make no promises on me following weekly but I am going to try it out this week! We're hooking up with Stefanie for Pinnable Me!
I just got hooked into Pinterest the other day and now I am loving everything about it. In the past approx. 24 hours I have created 7 boards and pinned 28 things. I didn't know I had that many things to be interested in! If you want to check out my Pinterest go here!
I'm just going to post about a few random pins since I can't decide on just one section this week.
First, I wish I had the tools and such to make this RIGHT NOW! I love storage spaces and this is just SO me. I may have to send the instructions to Daddy and have him work on it. ;)
Another item that I will do someday. It's so cool looking. The lady talks about how maybe it makes her an old lady to do something like this...but I'm 23 and want one too so what does that make me?
This will be the last one for this week, but how cool is this? Might actually be something I can do in the near future too. I just think its so simple and yet crazy awesome. Maybe for the baby room?
Head over and link up and talk about all your pinterests too!

Baby Shower (Long Post!)
OK! You caught me. I may have mentioned that I would post about the baby shower last night and never did it. I'm here to comment on it today instead. (If my computer cooperates I'll post pictures as well!).
First, let me say this. Even if the party itself had been a complete sham, even if we didn't receive a single gift, this past weekend would have rocked for a couple reasons. One, my mom and grandma made the trip up from GA and TN respectively to come and visit me and to throw the party at my place. I hadn't seen my mom since Dec and my grandma since Nov. Two, my BFF Dara came in from IL last minute as well to attend. I hadn't seen her since Nov either and even that visit was CHAOS cause of the wedding stuff. Three (and lastly), the weather turned cooler and has made my life so much more wonderful. I can actually get dressed in real clothes again.
But! The party was a blast. We got moved in over here a few weeks ago and I spent the time leading up to the party cleaning, unpacking, and then making decorations for the party. I figured it gave me something to do with my time! Here are some pictures of the decor that I made:
My mom made a pretty awesome cake for the party when she got into town and we cooked up a couple of easy side dishes. We had chicken salad with triscuits, chili bean dip, and BBQ weenies. Here's a shot of the cake:
Our theme for the baby room is brown/green with frogs and turtles. The party revolved around the frog and turtle theme.
There wasn't a huge showing but I also don't know a lot of people from around here. We had about 9 people total if you include Sam and our friend Mike who showed up towards the end of the party after Sam got off work.
We did presents first at the party because I had people wanting to watch me open them and it was just easiest that way. The gifts were awesome and way more than I expected! I got my car seat and stroller that I wanted plus my crib, lots of clothing, the breast pump, diaper bag, etc.
We played games after the presents and then unfortunately my mom and grandma had to get on the road back home. All the remaining party guests hung out for a bit then most of us decided to go shopping together where we bought even more stuff for baby James. It was better than I could have ever hoped! I couldn't have come up with any other way to have had things go. I am excited to start getting the room put together now and actually started to paint a wall in there today. I need to get the rest of the paint and stencils in order to really get going, but its progress!

Guess What?
I'm making another post this week! I know...it's really exciting.
Of course, this post is going to be my SWW post that I've been skipping out on for weeks so here goes...
SO WHAT if:
Of course, this post is going to be my SWW post that I've been skipping out on for weeks so here goes...
SO WHAT if:
- I haven't really made any significant posts on here in awhile. I moved, had a baby shower, thought I had an iron deficiency, and had an infection in that time period. That's excuse enough to give up on computer time right?
- I still found time to check into facebook and read all the other blogs during that time. None of that required me to really pull thoughts together! Plus, half the time I posted something lately it is because I want an answer and I get that a lot faster on facebook than here.
- My new obsession is making baby clothes. Now that I know what colors to use I am off on a role making clothing when I can. I am honestly thinking about throwing together a store of sorts if I can make enough stuff in the next while. I already have paypal set-up!
- I listen to pandora more than anything else. At least pandora gives me a good variety unlike the radio lately!
- I feel HUGE right now. Everyone still says I'm tiny, but I've never weighed this much in my life nor have had this much problems bumping my belly into things. I'm not complaining, I'm just saying it's a life change.
- I've gotten bored of all my facebook games. I've spent so much time home in the past few months that I play through games so fast! I never thought I'd say this but I'd really enjoy a job or some homework to work on right now.
- I was upset that mail doesn't come on labor day. We're still waiting on a few gifts in the mail and I'm excited. Plus, checking the mail is part of my daily ritual.

OMG What a slacker.
So I just looked at this blog and realized I haven't posted in over a month! Jeez louise...I am a major slacker here. I log in at least twice a week to check in with the blogs I read but I just haven't gotten around to blogging about my life. I think part of it was that I still hadn't accepted the fact that this is all really happening. We had my shower yesterday and I finally feel excited about being pregnant and everything. Woohoo! I'll post some pictures etc from the shower soon in another blog where I can write all about how awesome it was. I'm in the process of trying to update facebook with all the lovely pictures (and some not so lovely ones where I am making odd faces!). Look for more posts soon cause I am definitely going to try to stop slacking. Maybe get back with my SWW posts and everything too!
